CREATE FEARLESSLY, PAINT BEAUTIFULLY. VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA
About Me
Painter. Storyteller. Witness to light and resilience.

Roots in Art and Craft
I grew up surrounded by artists, design, and craft, in homes my father built with his own hands. An architect by profession and a maker at heart, he designed and constructed everything from gliders to kayaks in our backyard. My childhood was filled with hand-drawn blueprints, wood shavings, paintbrushes, and stories told through objects.
Art was not just something we looked at, it was something we lived inside. My aunt was a respected illustrator and painter, and my grandfather was a passionate woodcarver. Surrounded by their work, and by books on art history, colour theory, and composition, I was drawn to painting from the start. I began drawing seriously at ten, and by thirteen I was exploring oils, acrylics, and watercolor, the tools that still shape my world today.
My Journey as an Artist
In 2000, I earned a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University in Montreal. Later, I returned to study 3D graphics and launched a career as a video game artist with Ubisoft. Eventually, I founded my own architectural rendering studio.
Along the way, I taught modeling and rendering at Campus Ubisoft and Cegep du Vieux Montréal, helping hundreds of students step into their artistic careers. Yet no matter where life has taken me, painting has always been home. It is where I process the world, emotionally, visually, and symbolically. Painting is both meditation and creation, a way to listen inward while making something outwardly beautiful.
What Inspires My Painting
Landscapes are more than scenery; they are mirrors for the inner world.
I am drawn to trees that grow in impossible places. Arbutus trees, for example, symbolize resilience. They twist and reach from bare cliffs, anchored in almost nothing, yet they witness both sunrise and sunset. To me, they are reminders that growth is always possible, even when the odds seem unkind.
Water also carries deep metaphor. Still or turbulent, its surface tells only part of the story. Beneath lies something vast, shadowed, and powerful, like the human psyche. These elements make their way into my paintings not only as subjects, but as archetypes that reflect resilience, emotion, change, and quiet truths.
Painting Today
Now based in Vancouver, I am constantly inspired by the Pacific Northwest’s coastal landscapes, its light, its forests, and its waters. I create fine art, teach painting, and offer live wedding painting in Vancouver, capturing fleeting moments in paint so they can last forever.
Whether I am painting the curve of an arbutus limb, the glint of sunlight on water, or the first dance between two people in love, I am always searching for what is beneath the moment: the story that wants to be remembered.
Why Weddings Matter to Me
Weddings are radiant, whirlwind days. Photos capture the details, but they can also freeze moments in a way that sometimes feels too sharp or too critical. A painting, though, tells the story differently. Brushstrokes capture laughter, movement, and the glow of being together. I love creating keepsakes that highlight the joy of the day — the atmosphere, the connection, the feeling that lingers long after the celebration.

Let’s Connect
If my work speaks to you, whether you are seeking a landscape painting, a live wedding artist, or a class to grow your own creative skills, I would love to connect.
